When I left abuse, I felt like a feral animal – terrified of the world, trapped in a corner, with full-body
shakes as a constant companion. Life seemed like an insurmountable challenge, and I struggled to find my footing in a seemingly hostile environment.

Recovery wasn't a swift journey; it involved coaxing myself out of the shadows with the help of trauma
therapy, coaching, medication, meditation, journaling, and holistic approaches. Much like a frightened
animal emerging from hiding, my progress was gradual, marked by small victories and setbacks.

Leaving abuse behind, I found myself haunted by the feeling of being left behind in life. The years lost to abuse weighed heavily on me, and I constantly compared myself to others, convinced that everyone had it together except for me.

Desperate to catch up, I threw myself into work, diligently ticking off societal expectations like saving
money and paying off debts. Yet, despite these external accomplishments, I felt an emptiness within. It
dawned on me that I was the only obstacle standing in the way of the life I desired.

The words we speak become the house we live in, a quote penned by the famous Persian poet, Hafiz.
This revelation became the cornerstone of my healing journey – understanding that the key to a better,
fulfilled life lay in the way I spoke to myself.
