107: Does God Redeem ALL Broken Stories? Here's the TRUTH

Season #3

What happens when the person you promised forever to becomes the very one who chips away at your worth—quietly, gradually, until you barely recognize yourself?   In this intimate and powerful episode of It’s Your Story to Tell, we explore what it means to finally see clearly after decades of emotional confusion, spiritual wrestling, and silent pain.

Host Megan Babcock is joined by a woman whose story of resilience and redemption is as beautiful as it is brave—Marisol Serrate.   Megan and Marisol first met in the late 2000s, attending church and sharing space in a women’s group called Destined to Reign. At the time, neither of them fully understood the emotional abuse hiding behind the walls of their marriages.

They were simply two women who loved God and wanted what was best for their families. But as the years unfolded, so did the truth—and a bond formed between them that would carry them through some of life’s hardest seasons.   Marisol’s presence in Megan’s life has been Spirit-led and deeply impactful. From unplanned encounters that felt like divine hugs from heaven, to walking alongside Megan in ministry and now serving as a board member for It’s Your Story to Tell, Marisol’s story is one of undeniable grace, quiet strength, and radical love.

In this episode, she vulnerably shares what it was like to spend over 25 years in an abusive marriage—the red flags she tried to overlook, the emotional toll of staying silent, and the role that community, faith, and truth played in helping her find her voice again.   Together, they explore how trauma can shape our perceptions, how dysfunction often feels normal when it’s all you’ve ever known, and how God gently leads us back to wholeness—often through the love of others.

This conversation will resonate with anyone who’s ever doubted their worth, stayed in a relationship that hurt more than it healed, or felt too far gone to begin again. Marisol’s story is a tender reminder that healing is possible, no matter how long you’ve been hurting. That your instincts matter. That you are not alone. And that your story, even the most broken parts, can still become a light for someone else.

I used to wonder if my story really mattered.

Maybe you’ve felt that too — like your experiences were too messy, too personal, or not “far enough along” to share.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
Your story is your superpower.
It’s not just what you’ve been through — it’s how you got through it. And when you know how to tell that story with purpose, you don’t just inspire —
you connect, you serve, and you start making the impact you were born to make. That’s why I created Becoming a Storyteller & Creating Impact — a self-paced course to help you craft your story, speak with confidence, and start using your voice to truly make a difference.
